I was talking to Allan and Scriha today (among a few others, but that's a different story) about Allan's tech support and all of our careers. It was the kind of chitchat I like to steer clear of, and I swayed the subject toward people. Lots of people came up - Kim P, Kim H, Vicki, Alice, Tracy & Tina, Jordana, Gavin, Tim S, Aidan & Nick, Bubbles, Nicole, and probably a few more; we were definitely straining to think of anyone else we might've forgotten. The four of us weren't getting sick of it, it was entertaining and great to soak up the memories.
I saw someone from Coles in mackay out on the street when we went clubbing on saturday night. I was going to go over and say something, but she was with someone else and like I usually don't, I let it go. I'm kicking myself over it now - it's another missed chance. It was mackay's version of a really similar version that happened here. Maybe I'll get a second chance (but I'm doubting it - I think this was my second chance).
I miss everyone I haven't seen for years. They've moved on to bigger and better things. Allan said something to me which I won't be forgetting anytime soon.
All it takes is an opportunity.
I feel like I've seen emotions tossed aside in favour of making something of yourself. There's no struggle, no drama. You just do what you do, hit the ground running and hope you meet someone you love on the way.
